Almost four years later, on July 15, 2005, the New World Trade Center re-opened quietly with very little fanfare.<br /><br /> This is because the United States was under an alert. Newspapers<br /><br /><br /> cooperated by announcing the opening on a Saturday and all the major news<br /> placed news deep within as on page 37 with the New York Times. Playing down<br /><br /><br /> the opening spared New York great expense since security could also be toned<br /><br /><br /> down. Trouble was no doubt averted. The ribbon-cutting ceremony went off<br /><br /><br /> without a hitch. There were no protesters, few cameramen even received advance<br /><br /> notice.
